The German composer Hans Blank (1919-2006) created an impressive work for wind orchestra with his GEBET (PRAYER). The musical character ranges from intimate tenderness to festive grandeur. The composer has a special talent of being able to express a great deal with just a few words which becomes evident in this piece. Despite all its musical simplicity, the music is deeply moving.
