Overture
The overture ENJOY THE MOMENT for young band by Markus Götz is suitable for concert as well as for competition and contest. It is really based on two contrasting themes. The first theme is presented by the woodwind in the introductory “maestoso” section, and has a rather festive character. The “allegro vivo” section creates a cheerful atmosphere. Here the trumpets have the melody first. The percussion also has an important part to play, underlining this section from bar 42 onwards with a modern rock beat. The happy mood flows into a new “maestoso” section which takes up the initial theme once more, bringing the work to an end with a reprise.
