As the title of this elaborately orchestrated piece suggests, it merges several musical genres: Latin, classical music and jazz. FUSION LATINO CLASSICO features three trumpets, three flugelhorns, two cornets, a bass trumpet and percussion. Syncopated rhythms, complex harmonies and extended chords, modeled on the contemporary sound of modern „Latin Jazz“, can already be heard in the opening. In the following part, elements of classical music are presented in the traditional minor mode and with a melodic counterpoint. Constantly changing meters and a rapid tempo keep the energy level high. The (optional) Latin percussion gives color and rhythmic drive to the piece, which also conjures up a film music ambience by using cup, harmon and straight mutes. The lyrical middle section is a tense and powerful adagio. Still composed in minor, emotional tension builds up again, rising to a bright climax. The reprise is a brilliant finale.
