Hermann Pallhuber | Compositori

Hermann Pallhuber is a composer, conductor and music teacher. His musical education began in Austria at conservatories in Innsbruck and Vienna (trombone, piano, directing for ensembles), at the Mozarteum Salzburg/Innsbruck (music education) and continued at music colleges in Zurich and Nuremberg-Augsburg (wind ensemble conducting, composition and orchestration). Hermann Pallhuber works as lecturer at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart and the Tyrol State Conservatory, Innsbruck.

Pallhuber earned international recognition from composition awards in Austria and his works for brass band and wind ensemble - in particular those for European and national brass band championships in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands. His compositions have been selected as test-pieces for the Swiss Nationals in Montreux (2008), the British Open in Birmingham (2009), the Danish Nationals (2010) and the Grand Shield of the British Open in Birmingham (2011). In 2011 he was commissioned to write a test-piece for the Dutch Nationals in Groningen. Hermann Pallhuber now only writes by commission. His Mahler-like "Titan's Progress" was awarded the British "Test-Piece of the Year 2010".

Herrmann Pallhuber is founder and director of the "Bläserphilharmonie Tirol", overall winners of the Mid Europe competition in Schladming (2006). Since 2007, Pallhuber is state music director of Tirol. His "Elements of Nature" for wind band was chosen as required test-piece for the 2011 Austrian wind band competition in Feldkirchen.
