Tobias Zinser studied trumpet with Prof. Wolfgang Guggenberger in Munich. Further studies followed with Vincent Cichowicz and Rex Martin at Northwestern University in Evanston (Illinois/USA). He completed several master classes with various international trumpet soloists. He gained orchestral experience with the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Krakow Symphony Orchestra and the RSO Moscow. Since 1997 Tobias Zinser has been a trumpet teacher at the Jugendmusikschule Württembergisches Allgäu. At the same time he is very active as a trumpet soloist and in various chamber music ensembles. With Douglas Bostock, the long-time principal conductor of the world-renowned Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, Tobias Zinser has been undertaking conducting, literature and score studies since 1999. In spring 2000 he took over the direction of the Kreisjugendmusikkapelle Biberach (KJK). The KJK achieved its greatest success at the World Youth Music Festival in Zurich in 2005, when it won 1st prize with distinction in the highest class. Also in 2012 the KJK participated very successfully in the highest class at the World Youth Music Festival in Zurich and also won the competition of the category Selection Orchestra at the International Youth Music Festival 2012 in Ehingen. From 2000 to 2004 Tobias Zinser was the conductor of the Jugendblasorchester (JBO) Wangen and was appointed Municipal Music Director. In 2004 he received the conductor position at the Stadtkapelle Wangen and became deputy director of the special purpose association "Jugendmusikschule Württembergisches Allgäu". Guest conducting positions with various select orchestras and ensembles followed. With the Stadtkapelle Wangen Tobias Zinser qualified as a representative of the state of Baden-Württemberg for the German Wind Band Competition 2008 in Wuppertal and was able to win 3rd place with his orchestra. Following the wind orchestra competition, he received a conducting scholarship from the German Music Council. Also in 2012, the Stadtkapelle Wangen qualified for the German Wind Band Competition under the direction of Tobias Zinser and achieved the sensational 1st place at the national competition in Hildesheim with the spectacular electoral piece "Extreme Make-Over" by Johan de Meij. Tobias Zinser was also a lecturer at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen from 2006 to 2013. Most recently, he was instrumental in the establishment and realization of a new concept of conductor training (ADM) in the "Bläserjugend Biberach" (Youth Band Association).
