Jazz Rock Herbert Jeffrey „Herbie“ Hancock was born in Chicago on April 12th 1940. Many of his compositios became Jazz classics; one example is "Watermelon man". It was published 1962 on the album "Takin' Off". Herbie Hancock said he was inspired to write "Watermelon Man" by a man who praised water melons when Herbie was still young.
