Hymne an die Freundschaft

Notes available at: https://www.rundel.de/en/
"Wahre Freundschaft" "Hymne an die Freundschaft" ("Hymne to Friendship) is based on the folk tune "Wahre Freundschaft" ("True Friendship"). Karl Kling, president emeritus of the Allgäu-Schwäbische Musikbund, commissioned this piece and dedicated it to all committed musicians.
For guidance and thanks.
In more than 22 years of presidency, I have grown fond of the Allgäu-Swabian Music Association. Our musicians, minstrels and alphorn players have always been the epitome of lived folk culture for me. For generations you have made our Swabian-Bavarian homeland more beautiful, richer, lovable and worth living in with the network of tones and harmonies. This in joy and sorrow.
Reliable companions and role models in voluntary work have accompanied me. The loyalty of many endured.
I dedicate the commissioned composition "Hymne to Freudeschaft", composed for singing and music-making by Kurt Gäble, in gratitude to all friends of music here and in the wide world. May it be a creed beyond time and the future and may it be heard again and again as a folk tune to enrich the heart, soul and mind. My wish is that friendship remains our center.
Krumbach, September 2002, Karl Kling

The course for this was already set in early childhood, when singing together with the mother as a pastime while doing various household chores. The recorder followed and over time many other instruments, all of which the autodidact taught...
