for Symphonic Wind Band & Optional Mandolin Overture / Ouverture
James L. Hosay’s “Godfather of Seville” is a musical satire, interspersing excerpts from Rossini’s “Barber Of Seville” with snippets of original music written in the style of the music scores from the famous motion pictures “The Godfather” and “The Godfather Part II”. The whole idea with this piece is to have a fun time and entertain your concert audiences. At the same time you expose your musicians to timeless Classical music in a piece they will want to practice and perform. So don’t miss out on this hilarious, entertaining and educational work. To quote one of the most famous sentences from the movie: It is a musical “offering you can’t refuse!”.
