Walzer
Waltz / Valse

Waltzes occurred at a time when an encounter between man and woman was still severely regulated and when physical contact was a delicate issue. The waltz as a couples dance with men and women touching each other was a revolutionary and even scandalous invention. Today, the waltz is a worldwide cherished ballroom dance with a long tradition. When we asked Kurt Gaeble about his beautiful romantic waltz “Fast Himmelblau” (Almost sky-blue) and why he uses the world “almost” instead of letting the sky shine completely blue, he said: “Because the clouds in the sky bring off the blue even more. And because in real life things rarely go smoothly all the time.”
