Polka
The Lonic - Polka

Dedicated to the wind bands Westerstetten, Lonsee and Amstetten (the so-called "Lonetalgemeinden")

The Lonetal: tranquil villages, surrounded by lush green meadows and fields, species-rich forest areas where protected species such as the beaver find a home, steep cliffs and deep caves with unique, historically important finds. The Lonetal on the edge of the Swabian Alb in Baden-Wuerttemberg has a varied landscape and is a treasure trove of nature and human culture.

More than 40,000 years ago, the first Stone Age people recognized the advantages of this region and settled down along the river Lone. Finds of Stone Age flutes prove that people already enjoyed the music and gathered in caves to make music.

To this day, playing music together is an important part of everyday life in the Lonetal. Even though there are no more flute sounds from the Lonetal caves, the enthusiasm for music is unbroken. In the municipalities of Amstetten, Lonsee and Westerstetten is regularly celebrated and made music and so in 2016, the idea of ??a common polka for the beautiful home and the Lonetal. Famous composer Kurt Gaeble realized this idea with great joy in the music and composed the polka "The Lonic". In 2017, this Polka was premiered by the three wind bands of the communities Amstetten, Lonsee and Westerstetten on the banks of the Lone. Because even today it is music that brings people together.
