Notebook for / Notenbüchlein für
Anna Magdalena Bach

These two minuets – Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis BWV (Bach-Works-Catalogue) Appendix 114 and 115 - are from the "Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach". Originally they were attributed to Johann Sebastian Bach, but in the late 1970s, it was finally found that they were written by the Dresden-based composer and organist Christian Petzold (1677-1733).

The 2 MINUETS are considered standard works of piano literature and have accompanied many young pianists as part of their education. The composer and arranger Alfred Boesendorfer, touched by the music’s delicate simplicity, through his skillful editing for the eXplora series makes this elegant score playable for winds. He gives young musicians the opportunity to get to know classical music.

The 2 MINUETS are particularly suitable for learning interactivity and common musical invention. Drum and timpani parts are optional and can be omitted at will. So, there is the opportunity to have these minuets be a valuable experience in the study of chamber music work.
