Info

We encounter Irish blessings in literature and music in many different ways. They have enjoyed great popularity for many years. With his work "May the Road Rise", the German composer and educator Markus Götz has created a moving setting of such a blessing on the basis of a traditional Irish melody. It comes in the form of a ballad for brass sextet with optional percussion. The composition was originally written for wind orchestra and solo violin (or solo clarinet or flute) and was later reworked by the composer for the series "Rundel's Pops for Brass".

The sensitive music of "May the Road Rise" is able to address and touch the listener in a very immediate and direct way. The special acoustics of a church room can intensify this effect even more impressively.

Sextet Set includes:
Score
1st part in Bb/C (Trumpet 1 / Flugelhorn 1)
2nd part in Bb/C (Trumpet 2 / Flugelhorn 2)
3rd part in Bb/C (Trumpet 3 / Flugelhorn 3)
