Dialog of the Generations Different generations have different perceptions of time and pace of life. Children don’t even think on a certain timescale. They are there, they live for the moment. They don’t know the past, don’t worry about the future. Children have a natural thirst for action and adventure. And sometimes they just toddle clumsily through the day. The working population lives in an exhausting period of life. They carry all the responsibility. Their life is scheduled, metric, strict. The years pass faster than one can cope with. The life of the elderly slows down again. They learn to look at life calmly and wisely and are not exposed to enormous pressures any more. Yet, as they get older, the steps are more arduous and slow. These different generations are faced with each other every day. And most of the time they do not understand each other. Sometimes it is like they are speaking different languages. There are tensions, misunderstandings and prejudices. But in the end, none of the generations can exist alone. Society can only work if the different generations move together, communicate and take care of each other. It is like the different parts in an orchestra: Of course, each musician can play for himself, but only when they all play together, a piece will unfold its great and wonderful sound. Kurt Gaeble put the characteristics of the different generations into music. During the composition you can hear how they approach each other and finally create a beautiful union – in the "Dialog of Generations".
