The brass presents the basic idea of the piece in the first two measures. The whole band joins in and completes the idea in a rhythmic, melodic and harmonic way. In measure 11, the tenor horn introduces a new motif, enhancing the basic idea. From (B) the develpoment happens in 3/4 time but still with the same thematic material.
A short bridge passage beginning at (D) leads back to the main theme. The second theme appears in a equivalent, contrapunctal way. The music is interrupted by a short interplay at (E), before the main theme reappears in a majestic sound.
