Warren Barker attended UCLA where he studied under the composer Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. After serving in the Army Air Corps, where he was a band member, he began a long association with radio, television, and movie studios, working as staff director for Warner Bros. Records for nearly twelve years. He left in 1960 to focus on television work and retired in the early 1980s. He now devotes his time to writing, arranging, and conducting. Warren Barker dies on Thrusday, 3 August 2006 at the age of 83 in Greenville, South Carolina, where he lived the last years of his life. He was in an Alzheimer's unit for several months before he passed away.
