Georg Seifert (1819-1876) was military musician, composer and trumpet-major of the Bavarian Army. After school, he joined the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment of the Bavarian Army in Würzberg as trumpet applicant, In 1840 he was promoted trumpeter and in 1849 he successfully applied for the vacant post of the trumpet-major at the 2nd Schwere Reiter Regiment in Landshut. From 1859 until 1876 Seifert was trumpet-major of the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment in Munich. He dedicated many of his compositions to his wife Sophie and their children. A lot of his music is still in possesion of the music department of the Bavarian Library Munich.
