Yo Goto, master composer and educator, crafts basic music skills into six progressive arrangements for beginning band. Starting in Bb with quarter note two-voice unisons, selection two moves to half-notes, harmony and greater independence. Additional lessons include brass slurs, dotted notes, chorale-style playing, subdivisions, accidentals, phrasing, key signatures, etc. Selections are suitable for first or second semester concert performance.
