Tyrolean composer, drummer and music educator Martin Scharnagl attracts attention in the band music world not only with his hit polkas like “Von Freund zu Freund” or “Augenblicke” – also his concert pieces are very popular with musicians and audiences. And now there is finally “a true Scharnagl” for the young musicians! “Young Fanfare”, an easy, sonorous young band fanfare is Martin Scharnagl’s first composition for the RUNDEL series eXplora. He composed the piece in 2014 for a concert of wind and percussion students at the Landesmusikschule St. Johann in Tyrol, where he taught drums at that time. The concert needed an opening piece, so Martin decided to write a fanfare. The young musicians between 8 and 12 years old enjoyed the premiere very much and the audience was also enthusiastic about “Young Fanfare”.
