The number 2000 - to begin with - stands for the magic year, that is drawing near so swiftly. Another fact represented by this number is that this overture makes the two thousandth work published by MOLENAARS MUZIEKCENTRALE since its foundation in 1933. 'Ouverture 2000' was written to commemorate this occasion and it is dedicated to the Molenaar family.
