“Mountain Wind“ is a fine small concert piece by Martin Scharnagl. This delightful composition has beautiful melodies set in a sentimental atmosphere. With ease, Martin Scharnagl portrays deep emotions. The introduction of “Mountain Wind“ presents the main theme, which is then enhanced by beautiful counter melodies and simple variations. The lyrical flute solo (cantabile) is a very sonorous part of the composition, followed by a glorious festivo. In conclusion, an invigorated mountain wind resounds within the harmonically enhanced maestoso. Martin Scharnagl graduated with honors in music education and band conducting at the Innsbruck Conservatory (Mozarteum). During his studies he was awarded several national level prizes at the Austrian competition “Prima La Musica”. Beside his job as a percussion teacher and head of the internationally popular group “Viera Blech”, Martin Scharnagl is also very successful as a composer and arranger.
