Info

For more than 60 years, the German Air Force Band Münster has been ensuring a positive public image of the German Armed Forces and the city of Münster far beyond the borders of its region.
As one of the first bands of the Bundeswehr, the then German Air Force Band 3 was established in Uetersen in 1956 and found its military home in Münster just a few months later. Since then it has represented the German Armed Forces at home and abroad.
The sound of the music with which the Air Force Band Münster wants to inspire its audience is traditional, versatile and flexible, but also modern and dynamic - just like our armed forces.
Set up as a professional large wind orchestra, the 50 musicians of the Air Force Band Münster provide entertainment at the most diverse events - inside and outside the troops.
Its trademark is its impressive musical range - classical and contemporary wind music, pop and swing as well as traditional marching music.
Concerts of the large wind orchestra, chamber music, cultivated entertainment music, workshops, guest performances at international military music festivals, radio and television appearances as well as CD productions, but also military events like “Das Feierliche Gelöbnis” (the solemn pledge), “Der Große Zapfenstreich” (the ceremony of beating retreat) or general troop ceremony - all this and much more is part of the duties of the Air Force Band Münster.
Foreign missions in countries such as the USA, Canada, France, Italy, Oman, Spain, Russia, England, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, but also Afghanistan and Kosovo characterize the daily business of the formation. The Air Force Band Münster also provides entertainment internationally with its fresh appearance and thus make people curious - about our country and our armed forces.
