Louis Adam | Composers

Louis Adam was born on December 3, 1758 in Müttersholtz (Alsace). His extraordinary musical talent showed already at a young age, when he played the instruments violin, harp and piano. During his studies in Paris, the piano was his main instrument. Later he became professor at the Paris Conservatory and wrote a famous piano tutor. His compositions, e.g. some sonatas and some entertaining pieces, are rather unknown. Louis Adam dies on April 11, 1848 in Paris. He is the father of famous composer Adolphe Adam.
