Info

"Little Brown Jug" is originally a children's song from America that gained worldwide fame through a big band arrangement by Glenn Miller. For the series "eXplora," the song was specifically arranged to meet the needs and requirements of a beginner brass orchestra. First and foremost, there's the bass and the swinging drums, which already create a fantastic rhythm. Then, almost whispering, the "phones," referring to the saxophones, and the "black sticks," meaning the clarinets, join in. The effect achieved by this combination has an almost magical quality to it. Additionally, there are intermittent contributions from the "brass," representing the brass instruments. After some tutti riffs, the whole piece concludes effectively in the so-called big band sound.
