Composer Kurt Gäble distiguishes between "fun" and "joy". Fun is something entertaining, mostly pattering from the outside and not having any deeper effect. However, joy springs from our deeds, from something we intensly deal with. Joy is a consciously experienced emotion that enriches life for the long term.
This is why Kurt Gäble didn't give his waltz the title "fun in life" but "pure joy of living". In his eyes, music offers this special kind of enriching joy. Further, the lightness of the typical 3/4 time ephasizes this feeling. Kurt Gäble says that while writing this piece, he felt all joyfull and light.
