King Robert March
Soldier's March of Robert the Bruce
Info
This is a modern Wind Band version of the official March for the Coronation of King Robert the Bruce of Scotland in 1306. With all of the fanfare and flourishes associated with royal and martial music, this »King Robert March« is ideal as an opening piece or grand finale for concerts, festivals or special events. The Percussion section is featured somewhat throughout the piece, so you might wish to put them at the front of the stage, and perhaps even have them use marching drums to increase the visual effect.
King Robert the Bruce is known as somewhat of a controversial figure in history, being hailed by many for bringing independence to Scotland, but cited by others for committing numerous acts of treachery in the ambition and pursuit of power and glory. But this adds more interest to the subject of the »King Robert March«, and gives it an historical element as well.
