Since 2008, Josef Feichter is director of the Musikkapelle Pfeffersberg as successor of Andreas Reifer. Feichter was born in Sexten in 1963 and studied music in Innsbruck, Munich, Vienna and Boston. He was awarded at several national and international competitions. He was a Member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestras with famous conductors such as Claudio Abbado or Franz Welser-Möst. Feichter played at the Haydn Orchestra of Bozen and Trient as well as the Bozner Streicherakademie. He also is member of I Fiati di Parma and directs the Ensemble Concertino Brixen. The director of the Musikkapelle Pfeffersberg is also a teacher at the music schools in Brixen and Bruneck, the latter of which he leads as headmaster since 1995.
