Hinterm Horizont

Just in time for Udo Lindenberg’s 70’s Birthday on May 17, 2016, Musikverlag RUNDEL published his powerful, sweeping song “Hinterm Horizont geht’s weiter” (There is more beyond the horizon) from the successful musical “Hinterm Horizont” (Beyond the Horizon) as a fantastic concert band arrangement by Heinz Briegel. Based on Lindenberg’s songs, the musical tells the love story between the young German rock star Udo Lindenberg and Jessy, a girl from East Berlin, in the 1980’s. The political situation of the German partition, the spying of the Ministry of State Security of the GDR, the longing for freedom and finally the long-awaited Fall of the Wall are the central issues of the musical. The song “Hinterm Horizont” is a hymn to love and to hope that in the end everything will be fine.
