Gerd Huber | Composers

Gerd Huber was born on February 1st, 1959 in Bönnigheim (Baden-Wuerttemberg / Germany). At the age of 9 he received his first music and accordion lessons. In 1972 he was able to win second place in the soloist category at a national competition in Baden. Together with his younger sister, the two won several 1st prizes in the category duets upper/art level over the course of the following years. In 1975 he successfully completed the first conducting course and took over the direction of the youth orchestra in his home club in Freudental, and in 1983 also the direction of the principal orchestra. In the years that followed, he began to write arrangements for his accordion orchestra from all musical genres, which are still performed with great success today. In addition to 1st prizes at the local contests, he and his orchestra also placed excellently at the international accordion festival in Innsbruck in the categories of advanced level.
