Info

GENJI KOTO is a wonderful Japanese love song, composed by Luigi di Ghisallo. The first few notes of the introduction transport us directly to the far east, and the following main theme is calm and peaceful. Later the two main melodies alternate, between higher and lower instruments, like two lovers talking tenderly.

The title GENJI KOTO comes from two independent words. GENJI is the name of wealthy Japanese families, descendants of the Japanese Emperor. A KOTO is a traditional Japanese stringed instrument, similar to a zither. There is an additional C part included in the full set of GENJI KOTO that can be played by koto or traditional Japanese flute to enhance the characteristic sound of the work. One or more recorders are also very suitable to perform this additional C part.

Experience a fascinating encounter with appealing Japan in GENJI KOTO.
