Our imagination is one of the most wonderful human attributes. It allows us to travel to distant places, to the colorful world of fairy tales, through dizzy heights and into the depths of the ocean. There is no limit in fantasy; everything is possible. Inventors realize their fantasies by developing new devices. Authors realize their fantasies by writing them down as books. Painters realize their fantasies by brushing them on a surface. Composers realize their fantasies by setting them to music – and we musicians realize them by using our imagination to understand the music and tell its fantastic story to the audience. Kurt Gäble’s “Fantâsia” is a happily dreamy piece, describing the joy and excitement of wanton imagination.
