Christian Weiper studied trumpet and conducting at the universities of music in Detmold/Münster Department and Enschede (The Netherlands).

In early January 2001, he became the conductor of the band of the Federal Border Guard Headquarters South in Munich (Federal Police Band Munich) and, in January 2002, moved to Wuppertal, where he became principal conductor of the State Police Band of North Rhine-Westphalia.

After two years, in 2004, Christian Weiper joined the German Armed Forces to start his career as second music officer of the Army Band 7 in Düsseldorf. From December 2006 to January 2012, he was the director of the Army Band 10 in Ulm, a band with a rich tradition. It was during his term there, that he received the offer to become the band leader of the Bundeswehr Big Band, which he then conducted from August 2012 to January 2015. Before he took up that post, he intensively studied swing and modern light music for a certain period of time. At his own request, he was assigned the post of director of the Air Force Band Münster in early 2015.
