Accordion Orchestra
Celebration Overture
Info
This brilliant overture by the renowned Dutch composer Kees Vlak is to bid farewell to the second millenium, and, at the same time, welcome the third millenium.
The introduction is followed by a fast passage presenting tunes in the spirit of the New World.
The tender middle section is meant to be a welcome for the new era, the new millenium hence, and was therefore written as a lullaby.
The structure and momentum of the third part stands out in a different way: An ostinato rhythm is preparing the reprise of the main theme. The composer feels that his music here is expressing the emancipation of the peoples and the progress of mankind. The main theme and the rhythmic basis combined then lead to a festive finale of the overture.
The accordion orchestra version of this piece is combinable with the concert band version!
