Info

Buckaroo Holiday was written by the famous twentieth century American composer Aaron Copland. It comes from the successful cowboy ballet Rodeo, which Copland composed in 1942. Buckaroo Holiday contains many syncopated rhythms, and convincingly conveys cowboy life (the word buckaroo is derived from the Spanish word vaquero, meaning cowboy). However, some melodious lyricism is also present. This fine transcription for concert band has been produced by Ed Keeley and certainly does justice to the original.
