Info

Bert Appermont earned the degree of “Master of Music” at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven (B) where, in addition to theoretical subjects, he also studied composition and conducting with Jan Van der Roost and Edmond Saveniers.
Subsequently he earned a Master’s degree in Music Design for Film & Television from Bournemouth Media School in Great Britain. These studies focused on composing for musicals, film and television.
As a composer, in addition to two musicals he also wrote some 30 works for wind orchestra, symphonic orchestra, chamber music ensembles and choirs. In addition to this extensive repertoire, he also wrote music for youth theatres, music collections with a pedagogic character, and music for children, an area with which Bert Appermont is very familiar.
Bert Appermont is known for the virtuosity of his instrumentation technique and the composition of splendid themes. Many of his works are based on legends, myths or historic events, which gives his music a very special élan. His works are already performed in over 20 countries, and nearly all of his compositions have been recorded on CDs by well-known orchestras in such countries as Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Spain and Belgium.
