"BABA's REGGAE ROCK" by Kurt Gäble is a unique combination of various musical styles and personal experiences. Reggae has its roots in Jamaica, where it originated in the 1960s. Rock music, on the other hand, refers to beat-driven music that emerged in the 1950s and became enormously popular in the 1960s through bands like "The Beatles" and "The Rolling Stones."
Kurt Gäble himself was a member of a dance and rock band in the 1970s and still remembers some themes from improvisations of that time. In "BABA's REGGAE ROCK," he incorporated some of these themes, such as the vocal/instrumental mix starting from bar 41 ("Na, na, na"). His children also inspired him when they listened to reggae hits. From this exciting mixture, "BABA's REGGAE ROCK" was eventually created, which Kurt Gäble specifically designed and orchestrated for the youth orchestra series EXPLORA.
