"Spanish Fever" is the title selection of the new Fania All-Stars album. This exciting Latin-jazz album was produced and arranged by Jay Chattaway and features Maynard Ferguson and other jazz greats combined with this group comprised of the best Latin musicians from all over the world.
"Spanish Fever" blends the dramatic and exciting sounds of the Flamenco style with the infectious disco rhythms of today. The piece has been a popular dance favorite throughout the country.
Jay Chattaway's reputation as composer, arranger and record producer continues to grow. Prior to his present activities of working with many of the top names in jazz and contemporary music, Jay served for seven years as chief arranger with the United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C. His arrangement of "Gonna Fly Now" (the theme from "Rocky") for Maynard Ferguson was nominated for a Grammy Award as the Best Instrumental Record of the Year.
