"Kaddish" is a Jewish prayer for salvations of decendents. It beginns with chimes and gong, resounding very long. It s a very calm piece, appropriate to its topic. The beats of the timpani symbolise the pulse beat. Several parts form intense clusters whereas the flutes give a comforting impression. A motif of four notes repeat again and again, just like the name of a decent, that is said repeatedly. A long note of drum, cymbals and brass instruments have an monodic effect.
