Deutschmeister Regimentsmarsch
Deutschmeister Regimental March
Info
The “Deutschmeister Regimentsmarsch”, also known as Deutschmeister march, is a military march composed in 1893 by Wilhelm August Jurek (1870-1934). It owes its name to the k.u.k. Infantry Regiment “Hoch- und Deutschmeister” No. 4, to which the composer belonged during his service as a military musician. The premiere took place as part of a celebration by members of the regiment in the casino in Ober-Sankt-Veit, a district of Vienna, on March 19, 1893. The then 23-year-old Wilhelm August Jurek played the march on the piano and was accompanied by a comrade vocally supported. Jurek had previously written a text that was particularly suitable for the march. In the chorus (trio melody) the famous line "Mir san vom k. und k. Infanterie-Regiment Hoch- und Deutschmeister Numbero Vier" is sung repeatedly. The catchy melody and easy-to-remember lyrics helped the march quickly become popular and spread rapidly. To this day, the “Deutschmeister Regimental March” is one of the most popular Austrian military marches. However, the march should not be confused with the equally famous “Hoch- und Deutschmeister-March” by Dominik Ertl (1857-1911).

The series RUNDELs Little Wind Band Music (RUNDELs Kleine Blasmusik):
Playing music in small ensembles is the most original form of wind music and is currently gaining more and more importance. Ensemble musicians can work on important skills such as intonation, team playing, balancing - and express their joy of playing music straight with the audience.
The new small band series “RUNDELs Kleine Blasmusik” (Rundels Little Wind Band Music) therefore offers fascinating possibilities for groups who want to play traditional wind music such as marches, polkas or waltzes.
The concept “Quintet + (plus)” offers additional parts for two-part woodwinds, extra (solo) trumpet, percussion, accordion and accompanying parts for trombone, tenor horn, baritone/euphonium or French horn.
In addition to a clear score, the music set contains an extensive set of parts and transposed parts. Thus, a huge variety of flexible instrumentation is possible.
