Richard Stegmann | Composers

Richard Stegmann was a German cornet and trumpet virtuoso. Between 1913 and 1925 he was first trumpeter at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and then took up a position as professor for trumpet at the Bavarian State Conservatory for Music in Würzburg.

Richard Stegmann is one of the most outstanding representatives of his instrument that I know, both in terms of the beauty of the tone and technique, as well as in terms of musicality and intelligence. I hope that it will stay with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for a long time.
