The irish folk song "Danny Boy" was the inspiration for this beautiful arrangement for soloistic euphonium and tenor horn section. The song is very famous and tells the story about farewell and reunion. It was likely written in the late 16th or early 17th century. In the 1850's, it was also published with the titel A Londonderry Air and the text "Danny Boy" was added in 1910.
