"For the joy of music" - that's the motto of the Bruchköbel volunteer fire brigade band from the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse. The year 2020 should emphasize this motto in particular: The celebrations for the 110th birthday were imminent, but unfortunately the event had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the band was finally able to start the concert season again in 2022 and catch up on their long-awaited anniversary concert.
An incomparable concert evening took place on May 28, 2022 under the musical direction of Daniel Ulb. The absolute highlight was the eagerly awaited world premiere of the polka "Mein Grosser Traum" (My big dream). The piece was commissioned from the renowned composer Kurt Gäble in 2019 thanks to the active commitment of the then chairman Rainer Müller. The composer, who insisted on being present at the concert in person, conducted with full dedication and passion. Audience and Musicians were visibly enthusiastic and truly experienced a musical dream. In the meantime, the polka has even been recorded on an album with the RUNDEL studio wind orchestra.
