A Japanese Impression
Japan is famous for its diverse and stunning seasons. The autumn leaves with red and yellow colors are called KOYO. For centuries, admiring these autumn leaves has influenced Japanese culture and inspired many artists and poets. Depending on the latitude, the autumn leaves can be seen in different regions, starting as early as September on the northernmost island of Hokkaido.
Johan Nijs was also inspired by this natural phenomenon and offers beautiful musical impressions with his KOYO. A characteristic Japanese flute melody, tam-tam (gong) and the typical Japanese drum taiko (alternatively also bass drum) can be heard.
